Victor
Rebullida was born in Zaragoza (Spain) in 1963 and studies
music at the Conservatory of his town. He attended lessons
by the composer Agustin Charles as well as courses and
masterclasses with reputed Spanish composers. He obtains
the Special Award in Composition of the Music Conservatory
of Zaragoza.
His work has been played by reputed musicians and groups
such as the Spanish National Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra
of the Spanish Radio and Television, Madrid Symphonic
Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra from the Zaragoza
Auditorium-Enigma Group, Pellegrini Quartet, ANAKI, Sax
Ensemble Group, Madrid Flute Orchestra, Cámara XXI, Per-Sax
Dúo ( Israel Mira, sax y Manel Ramada, percussion), Choir
of the Aragonese Institute of Choral Music, guitarists such
as Santiago Rebenaque and Alberto Royo, Mª Antonia
Rodríguez (flute), Aurora López (piano), Francisco Martinez
(sax), Naoko Imai (organ), Carola Cuypers (sax), Soraya
Chávez (mezzo), Madrid Soloits, "Finale" group , etc. and
his music has been conducted by maestros such as Sergiu
Comissiona, Juan José Olives, Günther Herbig, Gloria Isabel
Ramos, Tomás Garrido, Enrique Azurza and Vicente Egea.
In 1990 he is awarded the First Prize ex
aequo in the 20th Contest of Composition for Choirs given
by the C.I.T. of Tolosa for his work Dies Irae. He gets the
Third Prize of the Contest of S.G.A.E. 1992 for Young
Composers with his work Jarcha. In 1994 he obtained the
12th Queen Sofia Composition Award given by the Ferrer
Salat Foundation with the work for orchestra In Memoriam.
In 1996 he is awarded the Composition Prize "Luis de
Narvaez", by the Caja de Ahorros de Granada, for his string
quartet Soneto. His work was awarded a prize in the
Composition Stage Injuve ’98 and he was commissioned a
piece by the Contemporary Music Center (CDMC) and the Youth
Institute (Injuve) He gets the First Prize of the 12 th
Contest of S.G.A.E. for Young Composers with his work
Nocturnales. His orchestral piece Movimiento para orquesta
is awarded the prize granted by the San Fernando Royal
Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid to celebrate the 125th
Anniversary of its Music Section. The International
Festival "Veruela Música Viva" (Monasterio de Ntra. Sra. de
Veruela, Zaragoza) commissions him a piece for flute, piano
and string orchestra which gets its premiere with the title
Becqueriana performed by M.ª Antonia Rodríguez and Aurora
López and the Madrid Soloists during the Festival in the
year 2000. His symphonic works A Través del Sueño and
Madrid 1808 have been awarded prizes in Sevilla (21st
"Joaquin Turina" Prize) and Madrid (Virgen de la Almudena
Prize, granted by Unión Fenosa and Madrid Town Hall).
He has been invited to take part in the Contemporary Music
Week of the Auditorio de Zaragoza, in the season of the
Chamber Orchestra of the Auditorio de Zargoza and he has
also written in journals like the Aragonese Journal of
Musicology NASSARRE published by Fernando el Católico
Institution of the Zaragoza Diputación Provincial with an
essay about the work Ancient Voices of Children, by George
Crumb and comments on the recording of the work by Agustin
Charles. He has also been invited to give talks in
different workshops and has been a jury in composition and
performing contests.
He took part in the 16th International Festival of
Contemporary Music in Alicante with his work Música para
Buñuel performed by Grupo Enigma-Orquesta de Cámara del
Auditorio de Zaragoza conducted by Juan José Olives. He was
the only Spanish composer whose work was performed in the
ISCM World Music Days 2001 in Yokohama with the piece
Oceánica-Sonata for organ.
ANAKI (pianist Ananda Sukarlan and accordionist Iñaki
Alberdi) asked him to write a piece, titled Changing Roles
premiered in April 2002 in the London Royal Academy of
Music. His Trio for clarinet, cello and piano was performed
in Munich by the Archaeus Ensemble conducted by Liviu
Danceanu during the 3rd Cycle of Contemporary Spanish Music
in Europe.
The Choir Music Contest in Ejea de los Caballeros
(Zaragoza) commissioned him the compulsory work for the
Choirs in the 2004 Contest with the title Tambores y otros
sones. The Comunidad de Madrid Orchestra and the Foundation
Canal de Isabel II asked him to write a play, Quinteto de
Viento Quinteto de Agua (Wind Quintet) for their annual
season of concerts around the topic of water.
The Chamber Orchestra of the Auditorio de Zaragoza (Grupo
Enigma) plays in the Cánovas Theatre in Málaga Suite
Imaginaria de El Quijote as a part of the collective work
Lectura de El Quijote to celebrate the Fourth Centenary of
the first edition of the work by Cervantes. In February
2005 the Luxembourg Sinfonietta conducted by Juan José
Olives played Música para Buñuel in Luxembourg.
In 2005 he takes part in a project with the director Carlos
Gil-Roig and the producing company "Factoría 9" to write
the music for the documentary entitled The Last Templar
which is shown in the permanent exhibition in the Centro de
Interpretación de la Orden del Temple situated in the Saint
Nicholas Chapel in the Castle of the city of Monzon
(Huesca) In the same year the organizers of the
International Workshop of Choral Music in Borja (Zaragoza)
ask him to write a piece for orchestra and choir to
celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the workshops. The work
is entitled Cantemos y Holguemos.
In the 2005-2006 season of the Chamber Orchestra of the
Auditorio de Zaragoza-Grupo "Enigma", to pay homage to the
late Aragonese composer Angel Oliver Pina, the conductor
Juan José Olives asks him to orchestrate Piezas sobre temas
populares infantiles españoles written by Oliver for piano.
Paloma Manau, conductor of Coral Montisonense, asks him to
write an adaptation of the popular 16th century piece De
Monçon venía el moço, a favourite song of the choir of
Monzón (Huesca). He has been invited by Marcos Castán
(composer and choir conductor) to take part in the Stage of
the Young Choir of COACE (Spanish Choral Federation) which
took place last July in Graus (Huesca).
From 1998 he has been writing the music reviews from
Zaragoza for the music magazine RITMO and from 2004 he also
write reviews for the newspaper HERALDO DE ARAGON. He has
also written for the magazine PHILOS METAL and the former
Aragonese magazine TRÉBEDE.
He has composed the orchestral music for a stage production
of the film Metrópolis of Fritz Lang, produced by the
theatre company Teatro Che y Moche and the Aragon Drama
Center that was premiered in December 2007. This spectacle
has been awarded with the Professionals Jury and the Public
Jury in the Theater and Dance Show (MATD08) in the cities
of Alcañiz and Caspe in Spain. “Metrópolis” is winner of
the MAX Prizes for Performing Arts in Spain in the section
of Best Novel Show.

He has composed an electronic work for the
new Pavilion of Zaragoza in the 2008 International
Exhibition in this city.
He has composed the musical themes for the children show
“¡Que te calles!” with text by Miguel Angel Ortiz and
directed by Marian Pueo and produced by Teatro Che y Moche.
He has composed the music for the puppets show "Cajal, el
Rey de los Nervios" with text from Adolfo Ayuso and
directed and performed by Elena Millan (Puppets Company
"Titeres de la Tía Elena") about the youth of the Spanish
scientist and Nobel Prize Santiago Ramón y Cajal.
The Matarraña (county from Aragón, Spain) Choirs Asociation
honoured him with the Honorific Mention "Miguel de Aguilar"
for his choral music.
His work “Música para Buñuel” (“Music for (Luis) Buñuel”)
will be played by the Saragosse Auditorium Chamber
Orchestra-”Enigma” Ensemble in his latinamerican tour.
Is member of the multiartistic team “El Arte-Facto” created
by Che y Moche Productions.
